  5. What is this file?
  6. ------------------
  7. This is a communications document for Smartcom for Windows. If you do not have
  8. Smartcom for Windows run to your local software retailer to buy it or order it
  9. from your favorite mail order house. Until 7/31/93 you can buy this for $49
  10. from Hayes Customer Service at 404-441-1617 if you cannot find it locally. You
  11. cannot use BBS.SCW without Smartcom for Windows.

  16.  [ BBS DIALER ] - Dialing directory interface provides easy calling
  17. and phone book management. Circular dialing, , credit card support, phone
  18. prefixes, and auto-online logon buttons make this one of the best dialers ever

  23. Dialing Directory Interface             Uses standard 'dialing directory' user

  103.                                         converts it to the text format usuable
  104.                                         as a dialing directory. Call ONLINE
  105.                                         WITH HAYES to get the latest list then
  106.                                         update your directories fast! BBSs
  107.                                         sorted by state for easy selection!

  109.                                         (*NOTE* This is a DOS program written
  110.                                         in Clipper meant to run on the DOS
  111.                                         command line. You MUST have expanded
  112.                                         memory available in order for these
  113.                                         utilities to work!)

  116. How do I install it?
  117. --------------------
  118. 1) Copy to contents of the distribution disk to your \SCWIN\COM\ directory
  119. (default) or any other directory you desire.
  120.  
  121. CAUTION: If you already have a BBS.SCW file rename it to something else or it
  122. will be overwritten!
  123.  
  124. 2) If your modem cannot support, 57600 load DIRECT.SCW and change
  125. SETTINGS|SPEED & FORMAT to what you need.
  126.  
  127. 3) When you choose a work dir in the RCV_MGR the default is \SCWIN\RCV\WORK.
  128. If this does not exist you must create it.
  129.  
  130. 4) Load Smartcom for Windows and choose FILE|OPEN to load BBS.SCW. The script
  131. will automatically go into setup. Two menu choices are mandatory - LOCAL AREA
  132. CODE and FILE PATH FOR .DIRS. SETUP will not let you quit without data in
  133. these fields. If you need a prefix to dial (such as 9 to access an outside
  134. line) be sure to go under PHONE PREFIX and set your local and long distance
  135. prefixes. (In most cases they are the same but in some hotels you may need to
  136. dial a different number for local calls than long distance calls.)
